Adverse symptoms or convulsions may
increase in patients with a history of:
- Addison's disease, adrenal gland, and thyroid
disorders
- Alcohol or drug addiction
- Asthma and respiratory disorders
- Brain tumor, head trauma or pressure
- Constricted airways, chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Enlarged prostate
- Epilepsy or seizures
- Irregular breathing during sleep
- Liver or kidney disease
- Low blood pressure
- Mental illness, suicidal thoughts
- Other breathing disorders
- Pancreas disorder
- Stomach, intestinal disorders
- Under-active thyroid
- Urination difficulties
Hydrocodone can impair thinking and reactions
that require you to operate machinery or to drive
vehicles. Follow your doctor’s advice concerning
these activities.
Patients with an alcoholic history and cirrhosis
of the liver may be advised by their doctors
NOT to take Hydrocodone combined with acetaminophen.
Hydrocodone may initiate dependence or respiratory
disorders, organ damage and possible birth defects
in unborn and newborn children when taken by
mothers during pregnancy or when breast-feeding.

physician about all other medications, minerals,
vitamins, or alcohol used, which may impact
your health (contraindicated) when combined with Hydrocodone
treatment:
Antidepressants, such as:
- amitriptyline (Elavil, Etrafon), clomipramine
(Anafranil), imipramine (Janimine, Tofranil),
and others
MAO inhibitors, such as
- isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil),
rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl,
Emsam), or tranylcypromine (Parnate)
- atropine (Donnatal, and others)
- benztropine (Cogentin)
- dimenhydrinate (Dramamine)
- glycopyrrolate (Robinul)
- mepenzolate (Cantil)
- methscopolamine (Pamine)
- scopolamine (Transderm-Scop)
Bladder or urinary medications, such as:
- darifenacin (Enablex)
- flavoxate (Urispas)
- oxybutynin (Ditropan, Oxytrol)
- tolterodine (Detrol), or solifenacin (Vesicare)
Bronchodilators, such as:
- ipratropium (Atrovent)
- tiotropium (Spiriva
Irritable bowel medications, such as
- dicyclomine (Bentyl)
- hyoscyamine (Anaspaz, Cystospaz, Levsin,
and others)
- propantheline (Pro-Banthine).
Benefits usually outweigh the risk of Hydrocodone
side effects. Contact your doctor immediately
if any reactions occur or worsen. Always
seek emergency medical help for an allergic
